Genesis 9:26-28

26 He also said,

“Blessed be the LORD,

The God of Shem;

And let Canaan be his servant.

27 “May God enlarge Japheth,

And let him dwell in the tents of Shem;

And let Canaan be his servant.”

28 Noah lived three hundred and fifty years after the flood. 29 So all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years, and he died.

 

I guess it is possible that Noah saw Shem as seeking God and Ham was not.  That could have been the reason his response was magnified.

 

I know in the old testament the sins of the fathers were often paid for by the sons.  I know that somewhere that changes and I am glad for that!  Seeing here that Ham was the one who saw the nakedness of his father, but Canaan is the one being "cursed" into servanthood.

 

950 years old.  That is a lot of living!  He must have been wise!

 

 

Not much today, I was going to start chapter 10, but it seems like too much.  We'll start another bit of "begats" next time.
